Results Announced in 6th American Business Awards

ABA08 GalaPainting the town green at a gala ceremony in New York on June 12, The Sixth Annual American Business Awards crowned the winners of America's "best in business" and honored a diverse cross-section of American business people and corporations for great performances in business.

In a nod to corporate America's focus on environmental issues, many of the 2008 winners reflect a strong emphasis on "green," including agricultural giant Monsanto (Most Innovative Company), the recycling program of the Philadelphia Eagles (Best Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program) and the smart building and energy company Energy Control, Inc. (Best Overall Company – Up to 100 Employees).

The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. The awards are conferred in categories from Best Executive and Best New Product to Best New Company and Best Blog. For a complete list of the 2008 American Business Award honorees in all categories, visit: www.stevieawards.com/aba.

More than 650 business leaders attended the gala. A portion of each ticket sold for the gala was contributed to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort founded by Nobel laureate and former Vice President Al Gore that seeks to halt global warming by educating people that the climate crisis is both urgent and solvable..

More than 2,600 entries were submitted for The 2008 American Business Awards. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were selected by business professional nationwide during two months of preliminary judging.

Winners of multiple Stevie Awards include Harrah's Entertainment, John Hancock, Lifelock, Omniture, The Marketing Arm, and Wingstop.
